AI Features Data:

• Item names for smart categorization (processed in real-time, not stored)
• Voice input audio (processed locally on device using Apple Speech framework)
• Item suggestions are generated based on common shopping patterns, not your personal data

Device Information:

• Device token for push notifications
• Device type and operating system version

Photos (Optional):

• Photos you choose to attach to list items
• We only access photos you explicitly select

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our service
• To enable list sharing and collaboration features
• To provide AI-powered suggestions and categorization
• To send push notifications about list activity
• To improve and optimize our app
• To communicate with you about service updates

3. AI and Machine Learning

Run4Milk uses AI features to enhance your experience:

• Smart Suggestions: We use AI to suggest items as you type. These suggestions are based on common shopping items, not your personal shopping history.
• Auto-Categorization: Item names may be processed by AI to automatically assign categories (e.g., Dairy, Produce). This processing happens in real-time and item names are not stored or used for training.
• Voice Input: Voice recognition is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Speech framework. Audio is not sent to our servers.

Important: Your personal data is never used to train AI models.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services, which employ industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Encryption at rest
• Secure authentication protocols
• Regular security audits

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, cloud functions, and analytics
• Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method
• Apple Sign-In: Optional authentication method
• Apple Speech Framework: On-device voice recognition
• OpenAI: For smart item categorization (item names only, no personal data)

Each service has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Your data may be shared only in these cases:

• With list members: When you share a list, other members can see list contents and your display name
• Service providers: With third-party services that help us operate the app (as listed above)
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Update or correct your information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications
• Request a copy of your data

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
